Of the two I would go for the IN76 over the 7700, but I would say that as I have just bought one! The beauty with the InFocus is the optional extended lamp warrantee which allows you to extend the 90 standard warrantee to 3 years unlimited use i.e. no back of the mind worry as to whether the lamp will blow!:smashin:

    Thanks Zippy

How much for the extended warrantee? Did you have a demo first, if so where? I've not seen them in any of my local AV shops

    Regards

    Hi ZippyCat,

What's the IN76 like?? I currently have the 4805 and am thinking of upgrading.

Do you know what the IN76 is like for Rainbow effect? I find the 4805 rather bad for it.

    Ta

It may go against conventional wisdom, but no, I didn’t demo the IN76 (but I’m confident the projector will be great as I have been following its developments of the last few months & speaking to people in the know). I currently have an MT200 which has the same speed colour wheel, and although I do readily see rainbows, I’m not overly bothered by them. In fact, the less I read the forum the less bothersome they become! I do however think that if the 4805 causes certain people problems with regards to rainbows, then the IN76 will do so also. I’m not overly sure on how much the 3 year warrantee costs as Ben from Discount Electrical included it for me as an alternative to their offer (not currently on the website):smashin: . I did have to pay a small token amount over the RRP but it is definitely worth it for 3 years piece of mind (I went for the platinum warrantee). I normally never bother with warrantees, but with my MT200 I've always got at the back of my mind the lamp. You can just purchase a standalone 3 year warrantee for the lamp, and although I do not have the UK price, the US price is $200 for unlimited use / replacements! According to Ben I should have the projector sometime next week, so will be able to give my opinions on the IN76 then. If you are after a deal, I would speak to Ben at Discount Electrical who has been very helpful, I’m sure he could organise a lamp only warrantee on your behalf.

just demoed my new IN76 & I am absolutely delighted.
played T2 Extreme edition via HDMI & it was jaw droppingly good.
this is my first experience of a projector & it has exceeded my expectations.
my installer who fits this type of gear for prem footballers claimed that it is on a par with the 7210, if I had spent the extra 1k on the 7210 I would not be able to tell the difference (his words, not mine).
