Hi,

I've got my hands on a pro-ject debut ii turntable, but it has no power supply. I don't even know if the unit works properly so dont want to spent loads on a replacement power supply!

The official replacements (£20) is here http://www.superfi.co.uk/p-3666-pro...rxCAH5jSHuTZJ8W3pBcUcgh6aCSvVS_vZqU7LnU_D_BwE

and the specs are 16V / 500mA AC Power Supply

I've found this on ebay but not sure if this will be compatible, as the output voltage is 16v DC. Does the output voltage need to be AC?!

NEW 16V 500mA 0.5A AC/DC Power ac adapter Power Supply | eBay

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks

The power plug into the back of the turntable needs to match as Crocodile pointed out.

But also the Polarity needs to match. Most commonly the Center connector is the Positive, but that is not necessarily true.

Then you need to determine whether the wall transformer's output is AC or DC.

If it is an AC output that depends on the Voltage Regulation being in the Device, in this case turntable. However if the output of the wall transformer is DC, then it at least has some crude Regulation in the wall transformer. Though that regulation could be no more than a capacitor.

The original transformer should say on it whether is is 16v AC or DC.
