    Hi,

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the Project preamp - first of all the instructions to not concurn with the cicruit board re: how to change between moving coil and moving magnet, but when i phoned up project and got what they consider the correct spec this is far from perfect - often dull, bassy and distorted - other configurations sound better but not optimal.

all suggestions appreciated - i am using a denon dm30 mini system

    cheers

    nick

also poss should have said turntable is a technics 1210 mk2

    Hi,
    No problems here.
Sounds absolutely fine, and i've had it for a while now.
I just use it in it's original config, as I didn't need to change MM/MC setting.
So I'm not any help, sorry.

    Paul.

    Hi,

Make sure you use a good cable between project box and amp, the orignal cable I used with mine sounded terrible.

    Be carefull with Pro-ject.
Their build quality is very often miserable.
If you're lucky to get a good piece you might get very satisfied with their products, otherwise you learn the truth about them . . .

RCA slots on all older models (all but SE models) are poor and cheap design. They often start turning around etc.
If you experience any problems the best is to try to swap it as long as you can.
    Good Luck!

Are you meaning build quality on their pre-amp box, or on their turntables too?

    I mean basically everything!

This is of course my personal opinion, but it is based on experience, and the company is also based here, just around the corner, so I might see it from different point of view . . .
