    I'm all at sea.

    a) Do all computer DVD drives support progressive scan output?

and b) If I'm going to be using an LCD monitor, does it matter?

    Cheers!

Software DVD players will always de-interlace the video coming off the DVD (AFAIK), whether you output 'i' or 'p' signals is dependent on how you configure the video card, but in the vast majority of cases you'll select 'p' .. which is what you'd do using an LCD.

Now, why do you ask? :)

Many thanks KraGorn. I just wanted to check that there wasn't some strange reason why I shouldn't carry on developing my HTPC!

Okay, I just wondered if there was some specific reason you were asking but perhaps wasn't sure exactly how to ask. :)
