progressive scan

    Thanks for all your help so far guys.

    Another Quesition for you. My dvd player at the moment only has RGB scart and SVHS. I have been offered a panasonic one with progressive scan ntsc.

    The model is the panny scht900 which i can get for £250 (from a mate). Its certainly better than what i have and i can just about afford it as well as buying the plasma.

    Any thoughts if this NTSC progressive scan is going to make a difference?

    No difference whatsoever except with Region 1 DVD's, and I'd check it's actually been multi region modded too. I have known a player capable of NTSC prog scan sold without the multi region mod, must take the prize for the most futile bit of kit. Seems a lot of money for a used, outdated player. You could get quite a lot for that money new.

    unless of course you watch japanese movies in which case region 2 movies that are NTSC would be quite useful. Unlikely to help but true.
    Only problem with the system is at full volume they still aren't very loud!
