I've had a pioneer 656 for just over a year now. I'm very happy with it but back when komplett were doing there deal we bought an AE100 projector.

The 656 has component out which we're using but doesn't have progressive scan. Does it make a huge difference when using a projector. I've got to confess i very rarely notice 3:2 pulldown.

So if i do upgrade my options are...

Pioneer 565 which is NTSC prog scan only but keeps DVD Audio (which i've used once)

Sony 930 which is progressive for both but no DVD-A.

I've had a pioneer as my player the last twice and thought they were great.

    Thanks for any replys

For your AE100 it makes a massive difference. I use an AE100 with an iscan pro and the picture is lovely. The problem with the AE100 is the horizontal scan lines. The projector doesn't do any video processing so the picture doesn't look too brill (I found the picture annoying) Added an Iscan and now I am happy - apart from the lipsync you get with an external video processor.
You may not get this problem with a progressive scan player.
    Azo.
