I am thinking of buying a Hitachi 42PD5100 but I am getting confusing information about the Progressive Scan capability. Can anyone advise whether the screen has internal progressive scan processing which allows it receive normal interlaced signals and convert them for display in progressive scan mode. Or does the signal need to be pre-processed.

Dave i think this is an ALIS panel, have a search, current UK model is 42PD5200.Progressive scan and Alis is a complicated issue, the screens do have an interal processor but it will process both progressive and interlaced signals to ALIS signal and then display it. WHOLE CAN OF WORMS
