    Hello,
I've a prograssive scan DVD player with component outputs (Teac DR-L700) and I'm want to connect it to a projector (NEC LT240) with a VGA type input. Shall I connect this straight to the projector with a componant to 15pin vga style connector or would there be any benifit putting the signal through something like an iScan first?

The Iscan will probably not give you a better picture than the P-scan out of your DVD player.
Before you go out and buy the VGA - Component cable, make shure your PJ accepts component in on the VGA.
My Panny PT AE100 does'nt so I have to use a component to VGA (RGBhv) converter.

Why not just use the component sockets on the ae100?

Because the VGA input is better on this PJ, and I get diagonal lines crossing the picture on component in with my Denon DVD3800.:(
