I'm fed up watching in SD and am prepared to wait IF they were shot in HD and shown latter (perhaps next year on ITV HD). However its really hard to find this info. I still can't find out if Drop Dead Gorgeous was shot in HD

I thought it might be a good idea for people to add to this thread programmes that will be available in HD but are currently only shown in SD. I would have posted this on the Programme section but thats little viewed and a fair percentage in this section is about content.

To kick things off here are some programmes that I have found. PLEASE ADD

    Home and Away
    Sopranoes
    My name is Earl
    Law and Order
    Letterman
    Boston Legal

The Gadget Show is filmed in HD but Channel 5 have no HD outlet. Not sure if that helps you though

Countless American programmes are produced in HD, so expect a very long list.

I have heard Star Trek Enterprise is in HD.

But sky one have not showed it in ages but its been on Sky 2.

Its moving over to virgin 1 so wont ever be on Sky One.

But may come on on HD - DVD.

I have all the SD DVDs though so wont be getting them.

    :(

Would also like to watch Jerico in HD to but thats on hallmark and the PQ is better downloading from bit torrent because at least its in 16.9.

Lost is also in HD and on Sky One in HD :)

Pretty much any new American show not aired on SKY One HD or the possibility of simulcast on BBC HD.

What puzzles me is why Cold Case wasn't in HD this season, yet widescreen.

Enterprise has been shown quite a few times in on SKY1HD and very nice it looked as well:)

I'd buy season 3 and 5 in HD but no interest in owning any Trek full seasons on DVD, the Fan Collectives are very nice though.

I've been wondering the same thing, particularly because it's one of the best looking HD shows on CBS. The new season of Law & Order is only airing in SD on Sky One as well, even though the recent seasons have definitely been airing in HD on NBC.

But I'm going to give Sky the benefit of the doubt on this one. There's always the possibility that, for whatever reason, some shows are simply not being distributed in HD for international syndication. Cold Case is distributed by Warner Bros. for instance, who until recently weren't providing Sky with HD masters of their movies -- while said movies were airing in HD on Warner's own HBO & Cinemax channels.

    Cheers.

Just for any Speedway fans on here the 2nd of last nights playoff matches from Swindon vs Peterborough was filmed in HD but was then downscaled for broadcast this is the 1st complete speedway match that has been filmed using HD ob unit. having watched it back you can see a bit of difference as the colours looked more vibrant and the close ups clearer compared to the Coventry vs Poole match which was done in SD with the usual ob units.

The worst example i can think of is Standoff. When it came back from its mid-season break a few months ago Sky put in on Sky One HD & Sky One HD.
But for no apparent reason after 2 or 3 episodes they dumped it onto Sky Three and dropped the Sky One HD simulcast.
So Sky had the HD material but for some reason didnt use it ... thats really annoying !

Possibly for the same reason they were holding back HD movies on SKY, due to HD-DVD / Blu Ray or whatever camp they are in for movies?

And try to squeeze every penny out of their later release on them formats?

Went on holiday last month and recorded the last episodes of House and Shark on 5. House worked but Shark said recorded but wouldn't play.

Downloaded from the internet in HD and 5.1 sound in less that 15 minutes. Why did I bother trying to record in the first place!

I believe Warner are format neutral at the moment.

All the CSI's are shot in HD - the aerial shots of Vegas and Miami especially look stunning.

(I know because I used to watch them in Australia, and all the CSI episodes are shown in HD there.)

On on the discussion of Aussie stuff, most, if not all programs from Australia are shot in HD for the local networks there. Neighbours, Home and Away - both HD.

The majority of US TV is shot in HD - as has already been said!

Some which I would like to see in HD -

    Boston Legal
Ugly Betty (might get my wish with Channel4 HD!)
    Hell's Kitchen USA
    Smallville

I'd also like to see some previous series of Malcolm in the Middle in HD - I'm pretty sure it's been shot that way since at least season 2, but Sky only seem to have HD rights to the last season.

Since it's one of the very few older programmes Sky do have the HD rights to, it would be nice to make it HD as often as possible!
