I have tried searching through similar topics but cant find a definitive answer.

I am planning to purchase a Panny PW6 and use a quintro switch box to connect Sky+, DVD, X-Box, PS2 and Gamecube via a JS RGB/VGA convertor. WIll this set up give me:

    1) Best pic quality (especially from consoles)

    2) progressive scan (from DVD)

Cheers in advance for any advice, I know its an amateur question, but really dont have a clue when it comes to AV!!

Picture quality should be very good, and probably the best you'll get this side of silly money.

And no, this will not give you prog-scan from the DVD player. You would need to feed the plasma via a component lead for that. Whether this would improve that quality of the picture, compared to your current set up, depends on whether the de-interlacer in the DVD player is better than the one in the plasma. You would be looking at a mid-range player at least to make a significant difference, I would think.
