    Hi

Have just got hold of a good second hand Pioneer DV-757AVi.

I'm currently having trouble setting it up for Progressive Scan use. Seems to work fine with PAL DVDs, but NTSC discs come out green on my plasma?

I'm using component video out (3xphono) into the component in on my Pioneer VSA-AX10 amp, then component out into 'input 2 / RGB(BNC)' on my plasma.

Hopefully I have just made a simple mistake on setting up, as have not used Prog Scan before.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

    Matt

Can anyone confirm for me that my Pioneer PDP-433MXE will accept both a PAL & NTSC prog scan picture?

Also it would appear that even when my Pioneer DV-757AVi has the prog scan button press in (red light on) I only get progressive logo come up on the screen when using NTSC dvds and not PAL. Could this be because my DVD player is running on old firmware?

433MXE does accept both prog scans. Nice tables on PDA5002 manual p32.
433MXE should show you what the source signal is (eg 60Hz 480p) if you press the info (or something) button on the remote.

If the picture is totally green, then probably the screen is in RGB mode but getting a component signal. If the picture is full colour with a green tint, then you can adjust it.

    Could be old firmware.

    7MAT,

As ancientgeek says, you need to go into the set-up menu and change it from RGB to component. All will then become clear! ;)
