    hi all,

    building a xps laptop but not sure which processor to have ethier;

    2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7-2860QM processor 2.50 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.60 GHz [add £390.00 or £20/month1]

    2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM processor 2.20 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.10 GHz [Included in Price]

    Is it really worth an extra £390 for the 2.5 GHz ?? well £330 with discount?

    hope someone can help!:lease:

    if you are just using it for general use ,ie no video encoding etc,you wont notice the difference between i5 and i7,i,ve had the top spec asus n55sf i7 and samsung chronos 7 with i7,and they have been no faster than my dell xps 15 with a i5 2430 cpu!!!yes its nice to have a top notch cpu ,but why waste money if your not going to use it,i paid £474 for my xps 15 r2,with 1080p screen ,750 gig hd,6 gig ram etc from the outlet,and it does everything i need and more

    If you know anyone who works in the forces, education or healthcare you can get a reasonable discount other companies do it as well so check if your/families work places have a discount scheme

    Or Quidco always have deals on
