    Hi

Just got a Yammy 440 and am very pleased with it. Today added a sixth speaker to create 6.1.

Changed the set up to 6 speakers, did the sound test to ensure all working OK.

Next for a test - and to my surprise the amp seems to fail to recognise DD5.1 EX disks. The only one it automatically set to EX was Harry Potter COS. It failed to reconise EX on all the following the following

    Star Wars AOTC (R1)
    Blade 2 (R1)
    Harry Potter (TPS) (R2)
    Monsters Inc (R1)
    T2 Ultimate (R1)
    LOR 2 disk (R1)
    LOR 4 disk (R1)
    Seven (R1)

It seems to have no problem recognising DTS ES however.

I can force the amp into 6.1 mode. When I do that sound comes out of the centre rear but I suspect by doing that it may not be decoding it correctly.

Anyone here got a 440 and using 6 speakers. Can you confirm all your EX disks are recognised? Have I got a fault?

    Thanks in advance.

i'm not using 6 speakers but T2:UE R1 does not auto switch to DD:EX while the DTS:ES switching works fine.

Maybe it is a general problem with the amp?

After doing a bit more research after my initial panic I found out that many EX discs do not send a proper signal to inform the amp they are in fact 6.1. DTS ES always does apparently. The manual for the amp does say that many DVDs may not auto switch and will have to be forced.

    Panic over.
