Using the JVC HRS-8850 and NTL Cable digital.

I know I can't control the STB via the VCR, but....

How do I set L2 (SCART) as my 'Sat/Cable' channel for Video+.
I used to be able to do this on my old Panasonic HS1000.

Also, when transmitting a Video+ code of a 'non-terrestrial' cable channel (i.e. everything other than BBC, ITV, Ch4 & Ch5) via the remote, I get an 'ERROR' on the VCR display, but when putting the same code via the OSD it accepts it OK, albeit with 999 as the 'Sat' Channel (1st problem).

BTW, whoever decided to do away with the old style 'proper LCD' transmittable remote and have OSD as the norm for setting the timer wants SHOOTING!

Now, you have to turn the TV on just to do this!!
No problem if nobody's actually watching the thing.
Also, it can't do an RP TV any good if you're switching it on then off again a minute or so later.
    Rant Over

    TIA
