Has anyone else experienced problems with Play247 recently?

The last couple of orders have been very poor indeed. In fact I got so fed up waiting for 1, I cancelled it.

I've always had a first class service from them, but am interested to know if my recent problems are just a bit of bad luck, or if others are experincing the same.

    cheers
    Jason

They have ALWAYS been excellent for me, wether I'm buying 1 dvd or half a dozen.
Infact I've decided to buy my cd's from them rather than Amazon!

    Welldone PLAY247!
All they need to do is get me Predator 2 asap and they'll earn 3 scooby snakz from me. [IMG]

I use them regularly for R1 and have always found them to be extremely efficient and reliable. I ordered Predator(dts)from them last Friday and it was in my DVD player by Monday, and that is not unusual for them.

They have had a problem with Royal Mail (Seems Royal Mail decided not to pick up their packages, same kind of thing they did with DV-Depot)

Things now seem to be back to normal as packages are shipping again.

I'm waiting for the "little plane from Jersey" excuse to come hurtling on to this thread any minute [IMG]

Used them twice - they were awful as the discs took weeks and my emails were ignored - won't be using them again.

I've had great success with Future Entertainment and Disc Emporium though.

I found that with Play247 most of the realistically priced DVD's were not a problem. However, when you have a HUGE title which will be in demand at a very good pre-order price you can rest assured you won't receive the DVD anywhere near the release date. I think a lot of people who have been unhappy with Play247 are fed up posting about their bad service. I know I've passed up the opportunity a few times.

I prefer to order my DVD's from these two:
    http://www.futureent.com/home.cgi http://www.ringos.co.uk/

Ringo's seem to be better with the new releases but Future seems to have more titles to choose from.

    Cheers

Thanks for all your comments. I think I'll stick with them and give them a fair crack, but just in case in I might try some the sites suggested.

    Thanks again everyone

I have ordered over 30 discs and have only had one problem with T2 Ultimate Edition, But others all arrive with 2-4 weeks. They are OK in my books.

    2-4 WEEKS? From Play?

Something wrong there! Or do you mean DAYS? [IMG]

    Ptm,

No this was WEEKS, This was one of the last ones I ordered from them and learnt my lesson. I was waiting ages for it while everyone else had it for a while and all other retailers had plenty of stock as well!

The only reason I could think of was down to the price, while it was going at a good price I think they had problems with their supplier and couldn't find another to suply it at the price they were charging.

Another friend of mine had the same problem when he pre-ordered Duece Bigalow - Male Gigalo I think he had to wait for 2 MONTHS begore he got his copy.

Like I said I think if you don't place any pre-order's and checked to see if they what you want in stock beforehand then you shouldn't have any problem. The other problem with Play was I found most of their Pre-Orders always seem to arrive on or after the release dates. If you are ok with that you won't have any problem.

    Cheers

I had good service to start with, but last two disks took ages ( 10 days for the last one). Both htese came via Belgium.

Complained on the phone, and was more or less told to go else where.

Won't be using them again. Had good servie from www.dvdworld so far.

    Regards

I had a friend that used to work in Jersey and he was always saying that it's a nightmare trying to send anything back to the mainland, on some occasions it took upto 5 days due to the backlog.
