Apologies if this has been disgussed, had a quick search and didn't come up with anything.

For the second week now i've come to watch the second of the double bill of House recorded on Sky One HD on Sunday and found that while it appears to have recorded ok, when I actually come to try and play it it doesnt work and no matter what I try to do it just wont play.

Has anyone else had a problem?

I think this is a known issue with the HD boxes..... I have had it happen once when i recorded the last two episodes of Lost the other week on Sky1 HD. The second episode said it had been recorded but was left with a blue screen when trying to play it.

Luckily i had also recorded both programs on our Sky+ box upstairs so watched the last episode in SD instead.

    Cheers

    Dave.

After all the hype, I decided to watch House for the first time this series.

I have watch the first two episodes, and I can not get into it at all. I vcan't get used to houses false american accent, and I just don't understand it... I think house is really up his own arse, and the others help by blowing smoke up it... Won't be watching anymore.

Sorry to take it slightly off topic.

You really need to see it right from the 1st series otherwise it is a bit difficult to get in to. A lot of the underlying story follows through from previous series.

aye, whilst there are individual diagnoses per episode, the way they solve them often revolves around the ongoing character storyline.....especially so for this series due to what happened at the end of the last series, grab the first series boxset and give it a go, dont give up just because you've come in 48 episodes late...lol

To cut a long thread short....this second in a chain of two recordings failing to play is a known bug that has been around for over 2 years.

The new EPG includes a fix so I assume those getting it are on the old EPG.

It is intermittent but the recording is toast ahd will never play.

To avoid it in future it is simple with the old EPG.

Reset your Sky + padding from whatever you have it set to (Auto, 5 minutes etc) to now read zero minutes both before and after.

This is only needed when you have back to back recordings on the same channel.

It should prevent the problem happening again until you get the new EPG.

Cheers Jaycee i'll give it a try, odd that this is the first time its happened given the recent spate of double episodes with 24, Prison Break, Lost, Fringe etc all having doubles. Oh well!
