Problems with gmail/exchange since jb?

I jailbroke for the first time on Sunday and love it but have had problems with my email ( gmail through exchange ) ever since. I keep getting an unable to connect to server error. Yesterday I deleted the account from my iphone and recreated but it was still the same. Last night it suddenly started working again but this morning its failing again. Obviously I can't be sure its anything to do with the jb and I'm hoping everyone will say its a problem with the service and is affecting them too.

Seconded... on a JB'n 3GS.

Can you get other data services, such as the internet?

Everything else that uses data is fine. It's been the same today, gmail has worked half the time.
