Problems with audio with my PS3 and AVR600

Basically I first connected my PS3 with a HDMI cable to the AVR600.

At first all I got was the picture but with no audio. I played around with the PS3 settings but still no audio.

Then I connected an optical cable from my PS3 to the AVR600. Both are on the PVR inputs. But still no aidio.

Can the PS3 transmit audio via HDMI ? What settings do I need on my PS3?

How do I get the AVR600 to be fed video via HDMi but to have audio via the optical cable like before?

Hi,

Long time since I had the PS3 but you can only either have audio via Optical or HDMI at once so you need to look at the Sound settings and make sure HDMI is enabled. I think it then asks about all the formats supported.

Enjoy

The PS3 will send audio over HDMI. You need only enable Audio over HDMI in the PS3 (Settings -> Sound Settings -> Audio Output Settings) . For more help: http://uk.playstation.com/
