    Hi all

Just bought 16gb touch but having problems connecting to my wanadoo (orange) live box for wifi.

Touch detects my home network ok but when i select it and try to input my password it won't connect.

I wasn't too sure wether they want my 6 digit password or the long WEP security key but neither work anyway

My 6 digit password is lowercase but i can only seem to get upper case on the touch keyboard, wondering if the problem is something to do with that.

    Any ideas? :lease:

Password for router is case sensitive but then I am not an Apple designer. No option to change case in Touch I take it then?

Other than that I can only suggest
~ no password on router temporarily to see if that works
~ change mode from "b/g" to "g only" or vice versa. Oddly only way I could connect my Wii

You need to enter the WEP key set up on your router.

I find this a pain on the touch as the password field is masked so you cannot see what you have entered. You should try entering a 128 bit key using the virtual keyboard and not make a mistake. I changed the router to 64 bit so the key was easier to enter without making mistakes.

Apple please make the password field viewable or masked!!

    Yes thanks guys.

It was indeed the WEP key required and you do have to be very careful with the keyboard

But it's working great now, docked it in my Sonance IW1 in-wall dock (flash git, I hear you say) downloaded a George Michael album for the wife, then checked out the footy scores on the BBC website using the safari browser, marvellous!:D

Still can't connect to youtube yet though, never mind.
