I have had my X-box for nearly 2 years now. I keep getting the "please re-connect your controller" message on a regular basis on all my games. This happens with BOTH my controllers and therefore I have ruled out the possibility that both have suddenly become faulty. It also happens regardless of which port i use.

I rang Microsoft and they said it needs looking at (standard response?). Anyone else had this problem? Is it the laser?

    Thanks,

    Ian

I don't see any way that it could be the laser as that is used for reading the DVDs. It's probably the little USB daughtercard on the blink with a dodgy connection. Either live with it, pay MS to fix it or open it up & wiggle the daughtercard & suck all the fluff & gunge out (suggest using a vacuum cleaner).
