Hi all
I have a Topfield 5800 which has suddenly developed an issue..

Since turning on today, MyStuff doesn't load and I get the default menus. Pressing Archive does nothing.

I thought I would check Altair to ensure that the taps were still there... But Altair can't see the Topfield. When I plug it in, I get the reassuring
USB detect sound, but then the unfortunate "knackered" USB sound... For some reason, it asked for a driver again, although it's been connected to all the USB ports of the particular laptop... I selected the driver, but no luck

I have tried several reboots, have done a factory reset, have done a re-search... but still same issue.

The topfield actually works and I can scroll the channels, but no other taps are working..

Could it be a hard drive issue or would nothing happen at all??

Your help appreciated!

Cheers

Can you play/pause/record? That will determine the HDD function.

good point.
it does pause, but resuming takes me to live feed...
and no rewind, ff etc...

think the hard drive has had it

is it simply a case of replacing the drive for another IDE (or is it SATA?)

cheers,
