    Hi

Firmware version is now at 1.18 if you are using the official Pioneer firmware and not the hacked version which provides multi-region support. It maybe worth upgrading to 1.18 if you havn't made the drive multi-region. I'm not sure if a multi-region version of 1.18 exists yet. I'm also using 1.14 (hacked).

I've also come across this problem and it was due to the type of DVD's I was using. Some cheap DVD's from the computer fair (no brand). I changed over to using Datawrite and Fortis DVD's and had no problems with writing at 4x and 8x.

What brand of DVD's are you using?

Are you doing any intensive processing of accessing to a second hard drive while burning DVD's which could cause the 108 to reduce the disc writing speed?
