has anyone out there been having trouble playing THE ULTIMATE MUMMY in there panny a160.
the only way for the player to accept any of the discs is to eject/close cd tray several times, before the player actually accepts the discs.
also having trouble with another disc THE POSTMAN(the wifes disc).
can anyone out there make any suggestions.
is there a firmware upgrade or is the player on its last legs.
    help would be appreciated..

I take it you've cleaned the discs?

Are they R1 discs? The mod in those players could sometimes be faulty. It's a small IC soldered in. Quite a simple one. Only way to prove if mod is faulty is to remove it and see (if discs are R2).

Are the discs ok on another player?

You can reset the player, on those all we did was pull out the mains and replug. That was when discs wouldn't load.

Then the most obvious answer would be that the optic block 'may' be at fault.
Does it do it with other discs?
Is this the first time it has done it? Or were they ok before?
To put it in perspective, my Pioneer 737 won't play R1 Jeepers Creepers. It may just be a compatability thing.
Search the whole forum looking for posts on the A160, you may find an answer there.
