We recently bought a new LG 32LC46, however it kept turning itself back on from standby mode. We have exchanged it for another of the same model but this does the same. Phone calls to both the LG and Currys assistance lines haven't helped.

A secondary problem (with both) is that it also keeps moving at a fast rate of knots through the menu selections of it's own accord (makes it a bit difficult to select anything). It did the same for the menu of a VHS player that we attached.

Has anyone else experienced this and/or can anyone suggest a remedy before we give in altogether and take it back.

It is currently connected to a Sony HXD970 recorder, a Cambridge Audio Azur 340R AV receiver and a PACE Virgin cable box.

    Any help gratefully received.

Make sure that the option to auto-detect the Virgin box in the Virgin settings is not On.

If it's within 28 days of receiving your new panel, march into your local currys with it under your arm, and ask for another new one.
Don't be fobbed off and accept a repair.
Or decide to get a refund (well within your rights) and look for another panel.

    Thanks for your replies.

We tried changing the setting on the virgin box but unfortunately that didn't help. The LG techline also suggested it could be the timer on the DVD recorder making it turn on but even with nothing on timer and the box turned off it came back on. So it looks like that's going back and we need a different lcd. The LG was recommended to us as having the sharpest picture - does anyone have any other suggestions for a 32" around £500.

    Thanks
