Problem with my Oblivion game, disc or 360???

Finally managed to sit down the morning to try and put a couple of hours into Oblivion as I haven't played it for ages due to lack of time. I get to the loading extra content screen and then the screen just goes black, with the music playing in the background. The 360 hadn't crashed as I could press the guide button and head back to the dashboard.

So I presumed that there was a problem with one of the pieces of additional content, so I delete them and try again. This time it sits happily on the menu screen but as soon as I select either Continue or Load now the 360 locks up, as the guide button no longer works.

Anyone else come across this or had any similar problems?? :lease:

Yes - had exactly the same problem just after I downloaded and installed the patch.
Try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it.
To uninstall go to the dashboard, select the hard disc maintainence option and, if I remember correctly, left, left X,X,right, right.
It should then say "performing maintenance".

If it doesn't work, try searching the Oblivion thread as the instructions are definitely in there.

Edit - sorry for the little writing. Don't know why that happened.

Bugger tried that and no joy, it still just freezes on the menu page whenever you select any of the options :(

Me thinks it might be the disc...

Gave it a clean, and it now gets past the menu and allows you to select a game to load, but that's as far as it gets.

Looks like some bugger has tilted my Xbox while I haven't been around :(

Sorry, last post on this, I don't suppose anyone has a contact address or phone number as to where I can get a replacement disc, as I've moved house and the manual has gone missing... :suicide:

Bugger, Take 2 want £25 for a replacement disc!!!! Microsoft say's it's my own fault as someone moved it while it was turned on, so that operator error not machine error, but suggested I take it down Blockbuster and use their disc cleaning service.

Blockbust is a good idea. Rent it and switch the discs... I didn't say that... upto you though ;)
