problem with my jvc av-28wr2ek

    the screen has a very stong blue tint and diagonal lines across the screen when using scart socket or aerial and also a few diagonal lines. is this an easy fix or is the tv ready to be scrapped. any help much appreciated.

    Almost certainly a faulty CRT. Probably not worth repairing given the age of the set

    Try this with care while the set is on and the back removed:
    Doing it no harder than you would tap the edge of a mug with the back of a spoon, holding the shaft of a medium to large plastic handled screwdriver, and with its handle tap the side of the tube-neck a few times in the area of the heaters. (i.e. plastic onto glass).
    Many intermittent tube faults can be diagnosed this way, sometimes they can even be shifted, but sometimes it will "kill" the tube.
    If you decide to do this, do it from behind the set with a large mirror in front so you can see what is going on.
    I have shifted many a tube neck intermittent short this way, BUT......
    You do it at your own risk!

    thanks for the replies. :thumbsup: bought a phillips 32" for £200 today. dumped the old tv,repairman said it was not worth repairing.
