Problem with MSI GT70 laptop - VGA output interference

Hi folks,
I have a new MSI GT70 2PC Dominator laptop and from the first time I played COD Advanced Warfare on it with the VGA output to a DELL monitor, there is noticeable interference on the monitor. It only happens when the graphics are very busy rendering the game graphics.
The image on the laptop screen is fine.
I tried it on a second monitor with the same results.
Has anyone experienced this kind of thing before?

If the cable was at fault, wouldn't there be interference all the time and not just when the graphics card works overtime?

Not if the interference was being generated by the graphics card (or something related like the power supply) and the cable wasn't probably shielded from it.
