I have just purchased an ipod , i plugged it into my pc for the first time and it synced with windows , then the itunes software came up and told me to reformat my ipod using the Ipod Updater so i did that . Now my ipod wont even turn on , not plugged in with the battery charger nor with the battery or plugging it into my computer , it just wont recognize the usb device .

    Anyone know what to do?

I assume you used the Restore function of the iPod updater as formatting from windows is a fatal thing to do !
Does the iPod updater see your iPod ?
Have you used the latest version of the updater ? If not, download it and try the restore again.

You can also try resetting the iPod (I assume it's a 4g one ?) by holding down the Menu and Select buttons together until you see the apple logo - with a bit of luck !

The first time I formatted my iPod it was doing it for 20 mins before I realised something was wrong. I just detached it (using the system tray) and started again and hey presto worked first time!

have you tried a reset by holding those buttons down together for about 10 seconds ?
