    Hi,

I have a Fujifilm F 401. Unfortunatly it must have had a knock sometime today, and the LCD display seems to be damaged.
Is this expensive to repair. The camera cost £250 2 years ago and I would hate it to be non viable to repair.

    Thanks

    Hill

Don't know your camera but something that cost £250 2 years ago could probably be replaced with something better for £150 - camera prices are always falling.

Try your home insurance - friends recently dropped an ipod and it was replaced with a newer better model without a second thought.

Cameras are generally not repairable. They are, but repair costs are set so high as to make it uneconomic.

    Thanks Robert
I'll send it back to where I purchased it from for a quote, and then try to claim from my insurance

Spoke to the insurers, and if the repair cost does'nt exceed the cost of the camera, they will repair under warranty. If it doesn't, they will give me vouchers to enable me to purchase an equivelent camera, drawback is that they will only let me purchase from Dixons/PCworld/currys.
I do hope however that they can fix it.

    Update

Had it fixed through mastercare. Sent it off on wednesday of last week and it arrived repaired on thursday this week. The cost of repair was £130.
This is in my opinion very good and fast sevice.
