To make the most of my latest toy (Hitachi 42PD5200 Plasma) I've upgraded my DVD source to a 2910 with DVI output. When I connected the DVD player to the plasma via a DVI-DVI cable, I get a rainbow effect all around the edge of the screen (to a depth of about 50mm) whilst the pitcure plays in a smaller window in the middle - with not particularly good resolution given the excellent reviews I've read for both source and screen.

Does anybody have any idea what might cause this and how to fix it?

Have you checked to ensure that DVI input is set to STB/video and not PC?

    Shouldn't that be a DVI-D (-DD) cable?
