I have a panasonic vt20 and i have films and photos on a usb hard drive that i would like to display on my panel. But everytime i plug the hard drive in it asks me to format it for recording but i dont want to do any of that is there anyway i can just playback instead of recording.

The VT20 has it's own way of formatting a hard drive which I believe is to allow recording from the inbuilt tuners. Therefore I think the VT20 assumes you want to use the drive as a PVR so I can't see how you are going to be able to overcome that :(

Stream it from your pc over dlna.

yeah its a shame ive got a 2TB Hard Drive with all camcorder footage photos etc really annoying seeing as you can do it through a usb stick. Ill ring technical on monday see what they say.
