I just bought a Barco data 800. It has 5600 running hours and the tubes are in fairly good condition, only slight wear on green and blue. I installed this beast to my livingroom ceiling and got the picture converged quite well. First of all the picture had poor black detail so I figured out that G2 must be wrongly adjusted so I tried to re adjust it. I fed a black picture to pj via RGBs (input 5) and set contrast and brightness to zero. Then I adjusted G2 pots until raster became visible, then a little back. After this I turned brightness back to 50 and contrast to 40, but it didn't seem to be right because the raster was now clearly visible!? I also tried all the other metheods to adjust G2 (bright=50 cont=0 / bright=0 cont=50 and finally bright=50 cont=50). I dont't understand it, If I adjust G2 so that raster becomes almost visible at 0 brightness and 0 contrast, how can I turn brightness and contrast up again so that the raster doesn't show? If I set contrast over 35 I get blooming and the picture is not sharp anymore. Any Ideas what could be wrong with my new toy??
