Excuse me for being "non-technical" but I will try my best!

I have an analogue (Hi-8) Samsung camcorder (the model number escapes me at the moment, I am at work).

I am attempting to record onto VCR tape what I have filmed on my camera.

I plug the camcorder into my VCR (I have an adapter which converts the cable with the yellow/white ends to the SCART). When I play the camcorder with the VCR set on the AV channel, the picture on my TV screen is excellent. To record, I simply put a blank tape into the VCR and press Record. But when I play back the tape the picture quality is awful. I get horizontal lines of interference across the screen. The sound is great but the picture is awful.

By the way, I tried doing the same thing on a friend's VCR which has the yellow/white sockets, but I get the same result.

Any help would be greatly appreciated coz I am tearing my hair out with this now!
