I'm thinking of getting a media centre (Evesham) but I'm worried that the dvd playback will be inferior to my Pioneer DV737 with component output on my Pioneer Plasma.

Are pc based dvd players comparable? Can you improve playback quality? Can you output progressive?

    Cheers

Depending on your configuration/ hardware/ software you will not only be comparable to your Pioneer but will be even better.
I think all computers will output progressive unless you tell it otherwise.
