    have an Ipon mini

How do you switch it off?

The reason I ask is that I fully charged it on the cradle tho the USB port and left it undocked. 2 days later the battery indicator is back down to its last bar and I have not used it

Hold down the Play/Pause button for a few seconds.

Leaving an iPod in a dock that isn't being powered, drains the battery big time. I leave my dock plugged into the mains and on all the time, so If I leave the iPod in the dock, there is still power to top it up. Done this for 2 years, no trouble with battery.

The player will switch itself off anyway if you don't use for 10 minutes or so. If I charge my iPod (not mini) and then leave it untouched it will usually run down after a couple of weeks.
When you say undocked do you mean that you take it off the cradle ?

Is it an older Mini? Updated the firmware?
