When i am playing a game on the 360, does the resolution i play at affect performance.

I play my games on a Samsung Le32r41bd HD tv, If i am playing at 720p instead of 1080i will it run faster or smoother than having it at the higer resolution or does this make no difference at all ? ? ?

Games like PDZ and Ghost recon annoy me with there Vsync problems, so i am getting all the screen tearing, would it run better at 720p or does this make no difference ??

    thanks

probably wont make any difference, although sometimes games can be juddery in Pal-50 so changing to Pal-60 will get rid of that. but between 720p and 1080i i dont think there would be any major performance changes.

from my limited knowledge.... 720p is better than 1080i. Plus unless your LCD is 1080+ lines high then it will downscale a 1080i back to 720 anyway.
I tried both 720p and 1080i and found I couldn't see a difference on screen so left it at 720. I've a Panny lxd500 but have never seen any tearing or other problems. It might be that you can download a firmware update for the TV.

If you have games like PDZ and Ghost recon you should notice the tearing unless you dont look for these things like me :)

I'm sure you know why they use the vsync to stop the game slowing down as much but when you are playing the game and it is an intense scene look around and you will see the screen tear, they are only slight and it does not detract you alot but once you know it is there is does tend to bug you. You will notice this more happening in PDZ.

Anyone know if there is a difference then ? Does this cause slowdown
