Pro scan through a Barco bg808

    Roland ,Gordon or anyone in the know can i run progressive scan through a barco graphics 808 (not s).
    i am using a denon sdi modded 1600 dvd player through the htpc (holograph card) + mp1- modded 9500 +5 individual leads bnc to bnc in to the barco.When running sdi and component both are fine but selecting progressive scan the piccy breaks up, any ideas? if i the barco wont take progressive can it be moddified and how much?

    I'm afraid the non s 808 would not take component video progresive or not.
    You will have to use something like a key digital transcoder which will convert it to RGB

    I suppose it will have to wait untill i get round to upgrading the pj with you;) its been 6 months since i last saw you, u must be due a visit soon , with having all this holograph and mp-1 stuff i think my pj could do with a re- calibration can you send me some dates when its convinient to come up to sunny Halifax.

    Rich: What are you trying to do here? Are you trying to compare the progressive output of the DVD player against de-interlaced and scaled output of your HTPC?

    i was interested to c if i could run progressive through the hd3 and the barco , component through the denon 1600 looks very good not a lot between that and the sdi, just wanted to c how much extra (if any ) the progressive made.

    (the cables are great btw the x5 cables does make a difference)

    Ah...That's was going to be the next question. The Holo3D card doesn't support progressive inputs. Which is why the screen loses sync. Changing your projector will have no effect on this as it's a PC issue.

    If you have AVIA put up a resolution test pattern and compare SDI against Component. Should see obvious difference I think.

    Glad the Cable made a difference, thought it would
