Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 – First Details Revealed | DSOGaming | The Dark Side Of Gaming
I've been reading about this on Evo-web and PES 2014 does indeed sound promising. A refresh of the game is much needed and hopefully this new engine will do just that. I like the early emphasis on using the engine to add more realistic elements to the gameplay rather than just talking about visuals.
I'll remain cautiously optimistic with this one given PES Productions' failures of the past six years or so.
Well, they needed to build the franchise from the ground up. I was a massive fan but stopped buying from 2009 onwards. Key to this is getting old magic back.
I would also prefer them to release a PC dedicated version and not a crappy port.
Apparently all in-game, not CGI:

All my attention is on this now EA have stiffed the PC brigade.
Yeah, Konami really have an opportunity now to gain some market share back from EA, even if it's only the PC market which is pretty small compared to console sales of sports games.
I can't wait for E3 to learn more about the new, overhauled PES using Fox engine. While the trailer doesn't give much away, at least it shows better animations and more fluid movement, if only in glimpses.
I really hope football gamers make the effort to try PES this year and don't forget the game that gave many of us so many good memories back in the PS2 era. All the noises coming from those in the know are talking of a completely new game. Long overdue.
About time football came home
The first news accompanied by some screenshots has hit today ahead of E3. I had to double-take when I saw the screenshot of Bayern walking out of the tunnel with the fan choreography in the background:

Same, shame that all my mates will play FIFA regardless. Considering the fact none of my friends will get an XBOX One at launch apart from me though, I doubt I will buy any version of FIFA 14 which leaves the door wide open for PES.
Anyone here got pes 2013? Thinking about picking up when my pc arrives but wouldn't mind some opinions on it. Also maybe a couple of games.
Yeah, I buy PES every year. PES2013 plays a nice game of football - PES still does the things it always did best such as player individuality and giving the sense of a deep, tactial, involving game of football.
If you download and apply one of the many PC patches then the game can look absolutely stunning, better than FIFA in my opinion. All the real kits and club crests, new stadia and pitch textures, new adboards and TV-style scoreboards.
The thing that lets it down is the animations and wooden feel compared to the very slick FIFA.
What Patches are you using now mate?
Im looking forward to the new version TBH
I use PESJP Patch by Jenkey.
It's a huge download split into many parts but worth the effort.

New lighting is looking good:
i want to see gameplay.
over at evo web people are slagging off this game left right and centre
It's just down to frustration due to not seeing any gameplay yet. We've waited years for a top class PES so hopefully this year we get it.
Been saying that for years. 'Maybe this year could be the one' and it just never is.

A short gameplay clip:
PES 2014Watch this video on YouTube
I think it's quite evident how much more fluidly the game runs now. Animations look more realistic and the ball bobbles around like a free entity.
Animations look a lot better than I expected. Looks very fluid now, and without looking like an ice rink too.
Really? Didn't think it looked that impressive?
compared topas PES games it is.
There's something about the gameplay that doesn't look right to me. Regardless, the game I'll be playing is PES 2014 + Jenkey's Gameplay Tool + PES Edit 2014.
PES 2013 with those additions is a very good game, especially if you get the speed and other physics tweaks correct using Jenkey's tools.
I'll reserve full judgement until the demo hits as PES is a game that often brings subtleties that need to be felt first hand. Trouble is with these gameplay vids, if the people playing aren't very good or clueless about how to play proper football then it sometimes doesn't do the game justice. It's the same when I watch these FIFA clips and people are just sprint-whoring up and down the field, playing chipped through-balls and neglecting good build-up play. It makes the game look arcadey and horrid.
Certainly looks as though plenty of change is going on with PES this year. Remember, this game won't be hitting the next-gen consoles so it's 'current-gen' for the time being.
I'm really excited to see what PES does with the Fox Engine on next-gen platforms.
