should i buy pro evolution soccer 4 on xbox or on ps2?

online gaming is a big thing for me - i assume you can go online with both.

Xbox graphics are normally better while ps2 usually has awesome playability. Has anyone tried both? Can you recommend one over the other?

Please don't respond unless you have tried it on both consoles.

Get the xbox version if you want to play it online because it's not online for the ps2.

the only major problem i can see with the xbox version is the controller. the shoulder buttons on the ps2 control pad are far better than the black and white buttons (but that can be sorted out with a converter). i have played the incomplete xbox version and have found no major problems. but my friend who has the offficial ps2 one says its good but still suffers from slowdown and bugs. obviously if you get the ps2 u can play it now and if u get the xbox one u'll have to wait a while.

Having played the PS2 version it seems to me that everytime there's a corner the game slows down so much that it almost freezes. very annoying. I just hope the XBox version doesn't suffer from this. Football games always have elements of slowdown, just never this bad.

Anyone that is a PES fan & who has broadband and an XBox should get the XBox version if it comes down to just getting it on one console. Only around another 3 weeks to wait!

If you can't wait then get the PS2 version & trade it in or sell it when the XBox version comes out.

There is bad slow down on the PS2 version. From playing it on a friends it seems like you cant use a number of the stadiums as it spoils the game too much. :(

I have played them both. Despite being a direct PS2 port, the xbox verson has no slow downs, graphically equal ( runs very smooth), 4 player xbox LIVE online play, and no hassle when saving formations, leagues, etc etc because of the hard drive.

Value for money xbox version is superior. Generally, the xbox versions of multi-format games are the best.

There's no doubt that if you are just going to buy the one version, that it should be the Xbox version. However if like me you couldn't wait then Winning Eleven 8 which was released on 4th August was a must, followed by PES4 on the PS2 (which significantly reduces slowdown on 50 Htz) are definately worth having until the X-Box version comes out.

The only thing against the XBox version, is the lack L2/R2 shoulder buttons. Also, I think it's a real missed opportunity on Microsofts part to allow a straight port from the PS2. I would have thought that they would have provided Konami with technical suport in order to make the XBox's the ultimate version.

    2 real players per xbox

    i.e. 1 or 2 players on a xbox vs 1 or 2 players on another xbox = 4

Yeah the controller thing is an issue I guess, but it's one that (as has been mentioned load of times before) can be overcome with an XBox to PS2 pad converter.

I to think that they have missed a big opportunity to make a better XBox version, however tbh i'm just happy to be getting an online version  . I'd say that if XBox PES4 does well then we may see a dedicated PES5 on the console next year - I guess it all comes down to money and whether the sales they will get warrant the extra development costs. It would be in M$'s interest to help fund the development though as PES is definatelly a system seller!

Thing is, if I already own 2 XBox pads, only need 2, it's a big expense to byu 2 PS2 pads and adapters just for one game. It's a shame that there isn't an andapter to allow GC pads to pay on XBox. Have 4 of them.

Unfortunately, its now been confirmed by several sources that it will only be 1v1 on Live. Bummer :(
