i thought you said it was an update for PES5, sounds a bit like that nasty offering from EA. i'm all for realism and detail but thats going a bit far.

i also notice you didn't post 'xbox live system that actually works'

    TBH

When are Konami going to pull their finger out their arse and fork out for proper licensing?

Pro Evo 6 is going to be a joke on the next gen without proper kits, stadiums, commentary etc.

Please Konami, that is the only reason people still buy fifa!

    :D i wasn't, i was only pulling your leg.
The A.I is pretty good in some cases on Evo4 but the keepers are horrific, much work needed for Evo5. but it will be #6 or #7 that should really push things forward on the next gen machines

The Live system atm is horrible, so much so that i don't play online anymore(unless i get an invite) konami probably spent all of 25seconds knocking up the menus and the network code then knocked off down the pub

im getting excited but this is really an update in all fairness. again it will be a top game and will blast the competition out of the water ! ive been a pes/iss/we fan since the start of it all, going on all consoles and i think it will be the next gen version were i rekindle my love for it. i remember loving it on ps1 and towards the end it on ps1 the last game was essentially just an update like pes5 will be. it took the ps2 to really revitalize the series and i will never forget the day i put the original pes on ps2 on i was gobsmacked. "jesus thats really zidane " :D this last game will be a stop gap imo and im sure they are working on the next gen already. i must admit i hammered pes4 at first untill i had no challenge in it and i will admit i left it for another football game  one which 95% will not have heard of never mind played. it was called football kingdom trial edition and was only released in japan. this game is amazing and has a nice feel to it because of the total 360 control. you can swerve the ball etc it feels more like football should be played, but it runs very fast giving it an arcadey feel. if they sort out the bugs for FK2 PES series WILL have finally some competition which can only be good.

oops one more thing id like to see but wont untill next gen i think is sheer atmosphere in the stadiums. i dont know about you but to me a) the generic chants suck, b) they repeat to much anc c) commentary sucks ass. i remember i did my ankle in a few weeeks ago so was layed up playing games on PJ ;) (not all bad i know) and i lent fifa 2005 as i wanted to see what it had to offer. gameplay = sh*te but this game reaked of atmosphere. commentary was nicly done and the crowd chants were excellent. 2-0 against everton at anfield and "you'll never walk alone" started blasting out of all speakers :D the old goosebumps were in and i thought this is what i football game should feel like. so imo Konami you can take some lessons from EA just not about how a football game should play but about how it feels and looks

When I had my x-box connected to my now sold Pioneer AX5ai, the sound was incredible. That amp eeked effects out of the game.

You could hear individual voices, clapping and stuff I did not know was there......

the sound is ok but i go to anfield for every single game and the atmosphere isnt portrayed properly in the game (PES) as it is in real life, were i think fifa does get some of the magic. think the official chants of the clubs help. this is obviously minor and there could only be one person out of 10 who is actually bothered. im sure there arnt that many % of pes players who have glorified 5.1 surround

Don't mean to be controversial, but is anyone else feeling Pro Evo is now just adding cosmetic touches to their annual updates now? Isn't this what we slag off FIFA for?

I wouldn't say so personally. WE8/PES4 was much smoother and more responsive, with better animation, better master league, online play and corrected quite a few (not all) of the annoying bugs. I don't think that they can squeeze much more out of the PS2 technically but it would be nice to see an version coded especially for the X-Box :lease: . Sadly the PS2 is where the money is so that's not going to happen - I expect to see another X-Box version that has been ported from the PS2 :nono: :( .

I'd be very happy if they further improved the refs decisions, the keepers and the online play. Those are the most important areas to fix IMO. I'd scrap the onfield ref as he doesn't really add much to the game and takes up some much needed procesing power. The real kits & teams would also be nice but not essential for me. They can be patched for offline play anyway.

It's the online side which really needs improving and to be honest i'd buy PES4 again if it had the following improvements.

    - LAG - better coding needed and also if lag is present then it should affect both players equally.
    - Cups/leagues - the option to set up and join proper online tourneys.
    - Semi Auto/Manual select - you should be able to chose between these options when playing online.
    - The ability to load stock formations without first having to load up your file in the 1 player game.
    - A much better ranking system based on the ELO chess style ranking as used in Forza. This way you get a good ranking through being good - not through playing 24/7.

So basically Konami - scrap the rubbish that we had to endure last time and give us decent online PES! I also don't see how 4 player games can't be done either as the lag shouldn't increase. There are still 22 players and their positions to sync whether 1 or 2 players per side are being controlled by humans.

I hope PES5 continues the evolution and doesn't turn out like a crappy FIFA style update - none of the other games have so far.

I wouldn't waste good wood! To be honest it's not your fault though, some people just don't possess the skill required to play PES  .

I think i'll wait for WE9 as there's not long now and i've already had 3 versions of WE8 and PES4 :D . I have read good stuff about the liveware version - shame that the online thing is only for Japan though.

I agree this years Fifa plays a good game of footie just crank up the difficulty level, i loved WE7 international but was very disappointed in PES 4 and WE8 the frame rate was awful especially around the goal.

However i purchased WE8 Liveware Edition which played a lot better and without the frame rate issues of the previous mentioned versions. The trouble was though although you could change the commentary language you couldn't change the text to English as you could in WE7 International.

So fingers crossed WE9 will live up to my expectations this time.
