Most likely it will be the end of this year (or later). I don't think there has been an official announcement. We'll know more when Winning Eleven 7 is released.

There are two divisions of Konami: KCET and KCEO.

    - KCET make the 'Evolution' series (Pro Evolution Soccer etc). These games descend from the PSX ISS games.

    - KCEO make the 'ISS' series. These games descend from the N64 ISS games.

If you're waiting for the next Pro Evolution Soccer then just remember that you want are the 'Evolution' games and not the 'ISS' ones and then you should be fine.

And Pro Evolution Soccer 3 won't be out for ages! I believe KCET will create a whole new game engine for PES3, and so I doubt it will be out this year. If you're desperate to get your hands on it you may want to chip your machine and import Winning Eleven 7 from Japan, since that will come out some time before PES3, and will probably be much the same game.

For loads more info on all this stuff, check out www.evo-web.co.uk or www.pesfan.com.

Willy is spot on there mate, generally the ISS games arent as good as the pro evo ones, but the new one (ISS3) is superb. Really good in two player and theres tons of hidden stuff you can find.

If you do have a chipped ps2 then there is winning eleven 6 out now that can be patched to english. Its better than pro evo 2 as its slightly faster.

There have also been two other releases as well: Winning eleven 6: final evolution which is the best of the bunch, and can be patched with a 40meg file that updates all teams/stadiums/crowd chants and kits so its more graphically like fifa. It also puts it in english.

You can also get winning eleven 6: international which is the american version of final evolution.

Hope thats cleared things up even more :smashin:

Indeed, Winning Eleven 6:FE patched is superb. I tell everyone who'll listen it's the game PES2 should have been.

So ISS3 is good then? I know it's a different sort of game, but just in terms of enjoyment of experience do you think it's in the same league as Pro Evolution Soccer? I hadn't heard anything about it, but your post has me interested now.

i wasnt expecting much mate, after the mess ISS2 was but its actually really good!

they have played with the physics etc and it plays a lot more like pro evo now. the gfx and sound are superb, really smooth. commentary is also good for once!

there is also a nice trick system where if you hold R2 the dpad buttons do different tricks like shimmys and spins etc. L2 and a directions gives aftertouch as well.

they have put in a 'one on one' system as well, where when you are one on one with a defender pressing L1 zooms in and you can try a trick to beat the defender. works quite well if you bother using it.

its only international teams but all names are correct apart from holland and wales for some reason. probably licensing or something.

its well worth a go, if your not sure about 'buying' it ;) why not rent it when its out.
