Because you can pay £350 for a private test.
You mean we can pay £350 for his private test

This rases some questions.
How did he manage to get tested if not being admitted to an hospital and if he is simply self isolating at Balmoral? Frontline medical staff are being refused tests unless they contract the virus and are then themselves admitted into a hospital for treatment.
You only test them if they develop symptoms. i.e. whether that sniffle they are about to self-isolate over isn't coronavirus and they can stay at work for now.It is pretty pointless testing frontline NHS workers as they are in constant contact. The test would have little meaning, you could test in the morning, say you are okay, but then that is meaningless by the afternoon.
The begrudgers are out in force on this. Try this In defence of the man, and the actions taken to protect him:
- His calendar has him all over the place meeting all leader types - industry, governments and charities to name but a few. His work is for the good of this country. Interrupting that work is an important decision. You’re damn right we should make sure we know if he has Coronavirus before he isolates
Yes, what I meant is that if you test Monday morning and it is clear, then who to say that they haven't picked it up Monday afternoon. You only test them if they develop symptoms. i.e. whether that sniffle they are about to self-isolate over isn't coronavirus and they can stay at work for now.

I could go on, but I won’t. Not testing Charlie would be sheer irresponsible stupidity, and goes on my long list of idiot British behaviour provoked by our media.

- Protecting the future head of state - which country wouldn’t prioritise that? Stupid not to.
- Head of The Princes Trust. Nearly a million young people trained since its inception, just after he had finished serving in our armed forces
- Leader of Business in the Community. Try looking up that membership list for corporate responsibility. Tesco, Rolls-Royce, Cadbury and most responsible Corporations who want the badge
Keep well campers.
Cobblers. How much money do you think the royals bring into this country? It's not really important though is it? Really, it's not. It's all fluff.
Royals are like Dr. Who. They just re-spawn into the next generation and the ribbons still get cut, the hands still get shaken, and people are still asked, "what do you do here then?".

That’s right on the testing point. My missus is a senior nurse in the West Midlands with staff across three hospitals. It’s not an essential service in current circumstances, although those of you in pain may think differently.Y0u've missed the point and it is a point that the NHS itself have tried to make the government aware of.
The fact is that if an NHS worker suspects that they may have the virus because they may have a cough or other symptoms then that member of staff has to self isolate for 14 days irrespective of whether they actually have the virus or not. This means that the NHS is devoid of that person's services for 2 weeks.
If those portraying the symptoms can be tested and proven not to have the virus then it would be safe for them to go into work and not have to self isloate themselves.
This just isn't happening because the frontline NHS staff are not being tested.
And you also have to consider this. If Prince Charles hadn't been tested then would that mean that he wouldn't of self isolated given that he was showing symptoms? What exactly was benefitted by testing him? In his case, the test doesn't effect the outcome.

(Cue bog roll gags!!)
I tend to agree. I’m not a huge Royalist, but then I’m no Republican either.
But, while it looks bad (and it is) that we can’t protect our own front-line staff (and my wife is one). How would it look on the world stage, if we couldn’t protect our major Royals?
Let‘s not forget how old the Queen and Prince Philip are - contact with this disease would almost certainly finish them off!
The lesser royals, Andy & co. can take their chances with the rest of us, but those higher up the food chain, IMO, should have every attempt made to protect them - whatever side of the Royal/Republican fence you sit.
We've just been notified that due to the Coronavius outbreak our village practice is being closed to registered patients in order that it may become a CALM clinic for the city. Anybody know what a CALM clinic is? Google isn't helping much.

Thanks, that's the sort of thing I found, it just seems odd they would close a busy GP surgery to establish such a clinic, although I don't doubt a lot of people are anxious and stressed at the moment.
