Any truth in the news that xbox and ps2 prices are about to drop ? I think it was going to be announced tomororw [30th]

It seems to be the case, which would mean great news for all of us. Realistically now theres no excuse not to consider buying all consoles at some stage. If the Xbox does drop down in price its on my xmas shopping list ^_^ Then it would join up with my PC, PS2 and GC.

I already have all three so ... not much time for other things in life I heard it was going to be around 160quid for the xbox and lower for the ps2 .. Im sure we can expect a 99 quid cube for xmas ..... oh the fun :0) ... especially once xbox live finally hits our shores !!!

Hehe nice one ^_^ With all three you have the best of all worlds and thats what I plan to do come xmas. I'll get my Xbox chipped as well for progressive scan and then it should be gaming heaven with all three.

 

It was announced yesterday. I think PS2 is £170 and Xbox is £160. Effective as of this Friday.

I work in retail, and the above is correct. XBOX 159.99 and PS2 169.99 from tomorrow (30th). Rumours abound the GAMECUBE will be 99.99 in time for Xmas.

With that in mind there really isn't a massive excuse now not to own at least 2 consoles... I wonder if these pricecuts will happen in the USA and Japan as well since I can't touch PAL consoles until the games will get a 60hz option as standard.
