The only price changes for most customers are to phone and line rental.
TV prices are changing for some on legacy deals - they're being 'realigned' to the same as the current prices (£22, £32 and £38 for Original, Variety and Box Sets)
That can't be right. A customer who has more of their service gets the price increase! The UK broadcaster has announced that the cost of line rental will increase from £17.40 to £18.99 per month – resulting in customers paying more than £19 extra a year.
Those who do not pay Sky for broadband will not see their landline costs rise.

Really?
Thats the whole point of staying on legacy deals, as they are cheaper and usually offer more than current packages. So Sky are now going after legacy package customers too?
They are the first provider ever to do so.
Yes, thats what the article said. These legacy deals are exactly the same packages, just at different prices. They're usually £1-£2 a month different . Sky are trying to equalise them all..
The reason is Ofcom have been making noises about people who just have a landline (no Internet) being ripped off, because of ISPs using line rental to subsidise broadband.Sky UK price INCREASE: Your monthly bills could RISE next month - here's who is affected

If true, you couldn't make it up the way they treat their customers.
Ha ha, Sky line rental and BT for that matter are so over priced anyway. I only pay £9.99 a month for mine, very cheap call rates and no stupid 15p connection fee for every call.''Sky customers who are currently on 'legacy products' – and benefiting from a lower price – will see their bills increase to bring them into line with Sky's current pricing structure.
Sky says the changes "reflect its ongoing investment in on screen line up, technology and customer service".''
"We are also keeping line rental prices at their current level for customers who only take a landline from us."
Sky UK price INCREASE: Your monthly bills could RISE next month - here's who is affected
No they don't. Sky now make a profit on it.That's probably the case and quite common.
SKY used to subsidise their (leased from BT) line rental and charged less for it than BT... and still do as far as I know.
I believe you've missed my point.Ah right, that must be a fairly recent thing. What do they charge nowadays?
From March pretty much the same as the rest of the cartel £18.99 a month.Ah right, that must be a fairly recent thing. What do they charge nowadays?
Not for much longer... The matter is now an Ofcom investigation and not before time, as wholesale prices have actually gone down whilst the service providers pushed them up.From March pretty much the same as the rest of the cartel £18.99 a month.
Bloody hell. That's nearly twice the amount I pay for landline. From March pretty much the same as the rest of the cartel £18.99 a month.
Exactly a monumental rip off , one raises the price and they all follow. It's unthinkable that we are fast approaching £20 just for line rental.Bloody hell. That's nearly twice the amount I pay for landline.
Who do you use for your line rental? Great value at £9.99.Ha ha, Sky line rental and BT for that matter are so over priced anyway. I only pay £9.99 a month for mine, very cheap call rates and no stupid 15p connection fee for every call.

Thanks. I'll have a look into that. I already have my domain/webspace with them (Xilo).
Just checked and their site says they can't provide me with a service, so looks like I'm stuck with Sky for now. My line rental is discounted to £14.99 at the moment though. Still too much as we never use it for calls, although the scammers like calling and leaving messages on the answer machine!
