    Hi All,
I'm thinking of getting rid of my G70, I would like some advice about how much to sell it at. It was bought just before xmas and has under 1000hrs on it. Chassis is in good nick with minor scratches. Whats it worth? It looks like I might be defecting over to the LCD side, I need the room back that this thing takes up:(

Going from a G70 to an LCD (any LCD) is like jumping out of a Ferrari and into a 1960 Morris Minor. With respect. Are you mad???
If you're that desperate to sell it. Name your price. I could do with another :D Double stacked G70's.
    Nice

Hope that ceiling is well strengthened :D

mt1979 - take a look at crtprojectors.co.uk, I think they had one which may gove you a guide, albeit with hours difference, warranty etc. I did say a guide :D

Know what you mean about size/space.

    I've got 4 too:devil:
Watch those power suplies. Great projector but hey how many fans does a projector need.
If only I could find a way of getting those liquid coupled tubes in an BG808s. then we would rock

No need Roland. The G70 rocks with it's own chassis.
Lovely machine. Quite rare over here so you should clasp the few you have to your bosom :D

    Hello MT1979

G70, lovely machine ! I hope to buy one someday.

If your machine has really under 1000h(I say you this because it is so easy to setup the counter to ZERO on SONY crts) and everything especially crts are in mint or like new condition without any wear or burn(it should be the case with less than 1000), I think that you could expect 3000$ - 4500$ ... under condition that you would find somebody(and his wife) who will accept him at their living room. :D :D :D

Thanks for the replies guys (and gals?) would it be unreasonable to stick it on ebay with a reserve of £4750? I've had a look at roland's site and seen he has one with 3500hrs for just over 4k, this is what I was basing the price on.

While the run time is an important consideration, tube wear is an even greater one. I've seen cooked tubes on 300 hour CRT's and seen perfectly usuable tubes (light, even wear) with many thousand hours use.

In short, less tube wear equals higher selling price. Couple this to low hours and you can ask for even more.

The G70 is a great machine.

When I installed mine I was amazed by the colours and filmlike picture. Probably the best 8" around.

I could never sell it for a digital....

    Mike,

I think if you are selling it on ebay you will be unlikely to raise over £2500. Roland and others command these prices due to their knowledge, back up service and guarantees. Private sales go for much less usually.

It's been said so many times but run time after about a year becomes irrelivant. Projectors that have stood with no use for a long time are far more prone to failure than one that has been regualrly used. Sony run times are resetable.

Unfortuneatly I have to charge VAT so that's £600 of that price.
I give a warentee for a year and have backup machies if something goes wrong.

Ebay in the UK tends to be thought of as an electronic Car boot sale which is real shame.
you prpbably have the about the best add you can get right here and saved £10.
