Running Premier Pro CC 2015 and have just build a new pc.

First the PC spec so you know what I am working with:

Intel i7-5820
32GB DDR4 Ram
Gforge GTX 960
OS drive 256GB N.2 PCIe SSD
Data 2tb mechanical hard drives
256GB SDD
125GB SSD
Win 10 Pro

So I obviously the the program on the OS. My finished work is on the 2tb drive whick is backed up daily.

So I need help re scratch disk, cache disk, project files and media

So yeah, put the scratch disk, cache disk etc on the 2tb drive.

For media, you may want to use external drives depending on how much media you are going through and whether you want to keep it all, forever, or whatever. Or you could just stick it on your 2tb. Whatever works for you.

I'd avoid using the mechanical disk for rushes. We used to run RAID arrays for all our rushes data but have started switching to PCIe SSD drives, specifically the Intel 750 series. Multicammed 3 streams of 4K and it didn't have any issues.

Rushes?

This is what I have done:

Cache and scratch file on one SSD
Media and Preview on the other SSD
Finished work on HDD (Which is now a RAID 0) which are backed up to a Raid 1 NAS

Rushes being your un-edited media.

If you have enough space on those SSDs, then great. If not, feel free to put the media on the mechanical
