I use Pinnacle Studio 9 (with a break-out box)to capture footage and Premier Pro to edit the stuff, but for some reason Premier won't capture footage directly using the break-out box, although it's quite happy to capture DV footage through the firewire port. It doesn't even recognise the pinnacle box as being available, any ideas?

Premier Pro is now really getting on my wick!
Can anyone explain why I import a clip into Premier pro, it plays okay on the monitor (source) but as soon as I move the clip onto the timeline... No sound!?!?!
    Anyone?

Does the Pinnacle use a proprietary avi format - my ancient DC30+ certainly does and the sound goes back through the capture card rather than through the PC hardware. Try connecting the monitor to the outs of the breakout box. This may also explain the other problem
