    Hi,

I've been out of the PC gaming loop for about 7 years, thinking about getting back in.

I'm looking at a £800-1200 prices point, and would be interested in views on the two systems below:

Core i7 Gaming PC with Intel Core i7 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

"ForceBox Ultimate" Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.4GHz Quad Core Nvidia GTX VR Ready Gaming PC

I can't figure out the £300 difference in cost, and would be interested in views on whether the OCUK option has £300 worth of extra value in it?

Any similar alternatives at similar price-points would be received with interest, thanks for all potential help!

Are you not interested in building it yourself, it is pretty easy process.

Motherboard and cpu can't be overclocked on the scan system and it only comes with 8gb of ram (16 should be aimed for nowadays). However the overclockers one is still using ddr3 ram. Basically, both have limitations that you wouldn't need to have if you built yourself

That's a fair question. I build a couple of systems a few years ago, when I had more time and less family. These days I don't mind paying a premium of £70-80 on the 'parts price' for a warranty backed by an established firm, and the day it would take me to imperfectly assemble a system and iron out the bugs. I

I'm wary of paying an excessive price though for a system with limitations that I'm not savvy enough to spot, hence the original question - and I don't want to pay for branding (Alienware), just a decent, lean system that will turn up and be reliable.

    Check out Yoyotech,

    Yoyotech Warbird RS10 Gaming PC - i5-6600K Quad-Core, Nvidia GTX960

I bought one of these (customised with a 970 in and bigger PSU) added the keyboard, mouse and monitor package and came in around £860. Took about 2 weeks from order to delivery.

Well happy with it so far, the division looks stunning and it was a decent price to get me back into desktop gaming.

Not a bad shout actually. I've just upgraded the spec to a better PSU (absolutely essential here), 6700k, MSI 970 OC, 250GB SSD and 16GB RAM and it's coming out at £950. Better than both of the OP's links for same price / cheaper
