I'm in a small music appreciation group and we all store our music on our phones. The problem is that this includes brand new iPhones (no sockets), older iPhones and a variety of Android phones. At present we us a 3.5mm cable to connect to the HIFI system, but this isnt a good quality audio solution. Does anyone know of an affordable pre-amp / DAC system that can accept 3.5mm and USB and WIFI inputs ? Thanks

I think your difficult here will be the wifi as most DAC which have both USB and 3.5mm jacks also utilise Bluetooth as the preferred signal.

Something like the Arcam irDAC II has all the main inputs that are available. From here you're really looking a networking products similar to the Teac NT-503 (Warehouse model linked). This will need to connect to the network, but should be able to see drives on that network for musical playback

Have you considered a SONOS CONNECT?

You can stream music from any phone which is running the SONOS Controller App, anywhere on your network and a million and one online resources.

The CONNECT has an analogue Stereo Input plus analogue and digital audio Out.

I'd suggest a chromecast audio. The DAC inside is pretty decent and you can stream to it from loads of apps. They are ridiculously loud for some reason so set volume to about 50% in the app.

Trouble is, manufacturers of preamps don't bundle wi-fi streamers - the target of better performance contradicting having all the high frequency circuitry in the same box. People wanting a preamplifier to achieve the best possible audio performance of the preamplification component are generally prepared to install a separate box for the source, whereas those wanting to keep the number of boxes down will generally go for integrated solutions, such as the popular Denon, Marantz or Yamaha wifi receivers.
