PowerMid XL IR Extender Wire

I've set up my Powermids but they don't appear to work with the extender wire plugged in. It works OK when the extender wire is unplugged and the receiver in front of the BD player, so I know the signal is being transmitted OK.

Should the LED on the end of the wire light up when the signal is transmitted? (It doesn't).

I attach the led block using the sticky side pointing directly at the IR sensor.

I suspect a dud and a return to supplier, but ask just in case I am being thick!

For some odd reason IR shows up as visible light when you view the source on the screen of a digital camera, so give that a try on those emitters.
One common problem with them is that devices need them to be placed very accurately over their sensors, and those can be difficult to locate exactly!

Ok - i'll try with a camera to make sure they are working and also a bit more trial and error!!.
